WWII or Prewar Manufactures Japanese Army Officer’s Type 45 Visor Cap

A tailor-made officer’s visor cap made of high quality khaki colored wool typical of pre – WWII uniform. The army tradition of the red wool piping and headband and the low peaked style started from 1913 and the characteristics are all present in this Type 45 cap. This type of cap was continued to be worn till the end of WWII. This particular example appears to be slightly worn and beautifully preserved without handling damage. There is no moth damage. However, the age cracks are prominent on the visor but there is no tendency of further deterioration. The purple silk lining and the ersatz leather sweat band is all intact. Large sized cap, about 57cm and fits a mannequin head. One of the most beautiful examples we have ever had.
