Waffen-SS Early EM/NCO's Combat Belt and Buckle

695.00

Generally the early buckles were produced in solid nickel/silver until sometime in 1936 when aluminum alloys replaced the nickel/silver versions. In 1940 the EM/NCO’s belt buckles began to be manufactured in steel replacing the aluminum alloy buckles.

Thia is an early 1932-1934 die stamped, solid nickel/silver construction. The reverse of the buckle is a mirror image of the obverse and the brazed buckle catch, prong bar and prongs are all intact. The reverse of the buckle is also well marked with the stamped manufacturer’s initials: “O&C”, indicating manufacture by Overhoff & Cie of Lüdenscheid and “ges. gesch.”, indicating, Gesetzlich Geschützt, “Protected by Law”. Buckle retains traces of its original feldgrau overpaint and has a very nice age and use patina all over.

The belt buckle comes with a 95cm long blackened leather combat belt. The belt is stamped “95” and is complete with fieldgrey painted ferrous metal catch and retaining tounge. Leather is still soft and pliable. In overall good, still used condition.

Really nice set!!
