Russian WWII Lieutenant General of the Red Army Air Force

Everyday/combat uniform jacket for officers and generals of the Red Army, model 1943 Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated 06.01.1943.

Constructed of khaki colored tricot cloth. Five button front closure. The buttons are lend lease type. WWII issue with correct 11 strands and painted with a rich layer of light brown paint. Small stand-up collar with light blue color piping and two hooks and catch for neck closure. To the shoulders is shoulder straps made of light blue colored cloth base with heavy golden bullion top and two embroidered golden bullion rank stars. This kind of straps was produced from 1943. The shoulder strap buttons are made of brass with correct 11 strands as produced from 1943. Two chest pockets with scalloped pocket flaps. Holes are made for two awards above the left chest pocket. Inside shows strong “ghost” marks from where the medals was pinned in place for a long time. Above the left chest pocket is the wound stripe insignia with two golden yellow stripes and one red for two light wounds and one severe wound. The insignia is neatly hand sewn in place. Inside is fully lined with light brown colored rayon.

The tunic shows signs of age and use. There is a couple of old and very well done mendings located to the left sleeve. No other holes, rips tears or larger stains.
