Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge Maker Marked R.S.S.

The Minesweeper War Badge was awarded to Kriegsmarine members for service on minesweepers vessels. The award was instituted on 31 August 1940 by Grand Admiral Erich Raeder.

This is a early war example produced of die stamped Tombak with gilt, silver and grey paint. Reverse with silver paint and hinge, broad bottle shaped pin and catch all intact. The reverse is maker marked R.S.S. for ” Richard Simm & Sohne”. The badge is in used condition with a nice age patina. Most of its original paint is still intact.
