Iron Cross Second Class 1939

Adolf Hitler restored the Iron Cross in 1939 as a German decoration and continued the tradition of issuing it in various classes. The Iron Cross was awarded for bravery in battle as well as other military contributions in a battlefield environment.

This is the Iron Cross Second Class 1939. Standard issue three piece construction cross with magnetic Iron core. The cross is complete with intact medal ring, suspension ring and medal ribbon. Both medal and ribbon shows clear signs of age, the Iron core has some paint loss and there is a rather heavy age patina to both the medal and ribbon.
