Heer Mountain Trooper's Mountain Cap Edelweiss

This is a two piece, die stamped sheet metal construction. The stamen is secured to the edelweiss by two, small tabs inserted into a slash that are visible on the reverse. The edelweiss has four, small pin holes in the petals and one in the stem designed for stitching it to the cap. The reverse is faintly marked with the embossed, manufacturer’s initials and date, “G.B. 42”, indicating manufacture by Gustav Brehmer in 1942. In very good condition.
