Heer Infantry Hauptmann's M40 Issue Combat Tunic

995.00

Issue tunic, constructed of field-grey cloth. The tunic features a five button front closure with a metal hook and eye at the neck. The tunic has four pleated front pockets with scalloped button down flaps. Officer collar tab’s, dark-green cloth with white rayon center stripes and silver/aluminum embroidery, machine sewn in place. Slip-on shoulder straps with russian braids on white wool backing. The shoulder strap’s have two gilt, alloy metal rank star’s pinned in place. Above right breast pocket is a Officer’s national eagle in bright silver threads on dark green backing, hand sewn in place (there is no signs of any previous eagle). To the left chest pocket is award loops sewn for two awards. A ribbon for the Iron Cross 2’nd class 1939 is sewn in place to the second button hole. The tunic is fully lined with brown/grey brushed cotton. The lining has a repair, a large rectangular piece of drill cloth which is about 15cm x 10cm. The lining also shows heavy stains from a longe period of use. Inner right lapel is size marked. 108cm in chest, a very large tunic!

The tunic, which is a issue tunic was re-issued with signs of previous em/nco collar tabs. However the officer insignias which now is in place match the tunic very well and has a good chance to be war time sewn. The tunic shows clear and rather heavy signs of real use with more or less no nap washed/worn away. There is a couple of smaller mendings and the tunic has a couple of larger stains. All in all a combat used exampel.

Well used combat tunic!!
