Heer Generalmajor's Old Style White Service Tunic With Ribbon Bar

The old style white tunic was introduced for wear in the Reichswehr during the short lived Weimar era, and was to be replaced with the new pattern white summer tunic as introduced in 1937 (still many officers and generals continued to wear the old style tunic). These white summer tunics were an optional uniform item for Officer’s and were only permitted to be worn between April 1st and September 30th. The old style white tunic was intended for wear in barracks during garrison training and sporting events.

This is a high quality, ribbed white cotton construction tunic with six golden button front closure with a single metal hook and eye at the neckline and a small stand-up collar. The tunic has four pleated, patch, front pockets with scalloped button down flaps. The tunic has straight cut, non-adjustable sleeves with dual-ply hemmed cuffs. The tunic has no collar tabs as per regulations. To the right chest is a golden metal national eagle pinned in place. All the original loops are present. To the shoulders are slip on shoulder straps with three interwoven strands of Russian braid with a central silver/aluminum braid flanked by dual gilt bullion braids mounted a red wool waffenfarbe base. Shoulder straps represents the rank of Generalmajor. Both straps are attached with a screw on device. Above the left chest pocket is a WWI period 10 place ribbon bar buttoned in place. The left chest has also loops sewn for two awards. All buttons, insignias and ribbon bar is all removable. The tunic shows light signs of age and use with no rips, holes or mendings.
