Named Japanese WWII Army Officer's Wartime Visor Hat in Extra Large Size
€325.00
A typical “off-the-shelf” officer’s visor hat that was often available at a PX. This one is made from rough dark green wool
which was used from 1938 onward. The cap was owned by an officer by the name of “Takuma Takei” (武居逞)which is handwritten on the tag sewn on the silk lining. However, the cap doesn’t appear to have worn very much. The wear on the sweatband is minimum and there is only storage wear. Though there are a few cracks on the bill, the overall condition is superb. Moth damage is almost zero and un-noticeable. However, what is unique about the hat is its size. It appears that it is about 59cm. I’m sure most of you can wear it. You don’t know how rare the size is unless you know that most of the wartime Japanese hats are under 56cm.
Hard to find in this well preserved condition and even more so in this large size!!
