Luftwaffe Leutnant’s Sleeve Rank Insignia

Introduced in December 1935 for garments that normally would not have any rank insignia such as protective flight suits and coats, work and drill uniforms. The insignia came in a series of white “wings” and bars for the ranks of Unteroffizier through to the rank of Oberst and a series of golden yellow “wings” and bars for the ranks of Generalmajor through to Reichsmarschall. The December 1935 pattern of rank insignia remained in usage through-out the war.

The insignia consists of deep navy blue wool bases with a single white wool “wing” positioned above a narrow white wool bar. In very good condition.
