Police NCO's M43 Field Cap

Police green wool construction cap features fold down back and side panels and two small, field-grey painted metal closure buttons to the front center. The back and side panels were designed to be folded down to protect the wearers ears and neck and the scalloped front section could be secured with the buttons closed under the wearers chin. The front center of the cap has a combined second pattern machine woven, wreathed police eagle in mouse grey threads and a national tri-color cockade on a woven police green rayon base. The insignia is neatly hand stitched to the cap. The cap has an extended, cloth covered visor with a subtly raised lip to the top of the forward edge. The interior of the cap is fully lined in grey rayon. The cap shows light nap wear to all exposed parts. Inside lining in good condition with some sweat/grease soiling. Inside is nicely marked with rb number, and size “56” as well as “PO 1944” for polizei year 1944.n All in all a used cap in still good condition.
