Cavalry Long Dress Bayonet with Carrying Leather and Portepee

Roughly 25cm long nickel/silver plated drop forged, steel construction blade with wide fullers to each side. Maker marked to “Eickhorn, Solingen”. The brown leather washer is still intact. The bayonet has a nickel/silver plated alloy, crossguard with one up-swept arm, a flash guard and a stylized eagle head pommel. The bayonet has carved stag horn grips which are secured to the hilt by two dome headed rivets. Golden yellow (Cavalry) felt plug is still present. The bayonet comes complete with its original black painted, sheet metal scabbard and brown colored carrying leather. A portepee is tied in place with red and yellow cotton embroidery for branch of service designation. All parts shows only light signs of age.

A very well preserved and complete example with desirable stag horn grip!!
