Russian M35 WWII NKVD - Boarder Guard Officer´s Visor Cap Produced 1940 in Moscow

The M35 Visor Cap was introduced by order of the People’s Commissar of Defense of the USSR No. 176 of December 3, 1935.

The cap is constructed of green wool with black cloth center band. The upper edge and upper center of the cap band has rasberry-red colored trimmed wool piping. Pinned in place to the front center of the cap band is a WWII type red star with deep red enamel. Black leather chin strap is attached with two brass buttons, one to each side which are pinned in place. Correct WWII type square shaped fiber visor. The lining is constructed of brown/grey cotton. Caps original oil-cloth sweat band is still in place. The lining is stamped with a clear maker mark stamp which reads: “Cap Factory Nr 23 October revolution. Size 58. Moscow 1940 (which is the year of production)

The cap is in a well preserved, but still well used condition. Outside shows no rips, mendings, moth holes or stains. Just some wear to highlighted positions. Inside shows clear signs of use with sweat stains and wear marks from a longer period of use.
