Tropical Coastal Artillery Maat's Drill Tunic
€750.00
Constructed of olive-green tropical light weight “drill” HBT cloth. 5 button front closure, all buttons is of the same type with beige colored with a anchor. Singel hook and catch to the neck. Two hip pockets without pocket flaps and now unajustable sleeves. Collar with gilt bullion rank tresse to bottom edge and EM/NCO’s M35 collar tabs machine sewn in place. Really fascinating to see, under the M35 collar tabs is the old more simple collar tabs machine sewn in place. Look carefully at the picture, picturing the reverse of the collar there we clearly see the machine sewing from both the M35 collar tabs and the old ones. But the old collar tabs was never removed which is clearly evident when examine by hand, they are still in place under the new ones. War time done for sure, our reasoning is this soldier was promoted to NCO and when adding the rank tresse he also upgraded his collar tabs for a better look!. To the right chest is a coastal artillery national eagle in golden yellow threads on dark green rayon cloth machine sewn in place. There is two small pin-head sized holes for a combat badge which was pinned in place. The tunic is in good, used condition with no rips, holes or mendings. There is some smaller stains and color fading to all exposed parts. There is also a couple of oil stains to the inside, see pictures.
Scarce and desirable tunic!!
