US WWII 8th Army Air Force Major's Tunic And Badges Dated 1942

A very nice condition chocolate brown tunic belonging to a Major in the U.S. 8th Army Air Force. Beautifully gilded double constructed eagle buttons. ‘US’ to each collar with wing propellers below. Fitted with a set of Sterling silver pilots wings maker marked “AMICO” and three U.S. medal ribbons. The label to the interior shows the US eagle “REGULATION ARMY OFFICERS UNIFORM” plus a label to the interior pocket giving the size of “39R” with the date “22th June 1942” with the stamp of the quartermaster inspector. Long service bars to the lower left sleeve for 3,5 years of overseas service under hostile conditions. Also to the upper left sleeve is a officers insignia for the 8th Army air force. Pinned to the right chest is a very rare pin pinned in place. The pin shows a winged boot and was given to shot down air crew members who made it back to their own lines on foot! Above the same breast pocket is a WWII Presidential unit citation ribbon with 1 oak leaf cluster. The tunic shows light signs of age and use and is in very good condition.
