The Iron Cross 1914 was introduced by Kaiser Wilhelm II during World War I to recognize exceptional acts of valor and bravery. As one of the most iconic German military decorations, it represents a symbol of honor, courage, and sacrifice.
The Iron Cross is a high quality production with the silver frames produced of (real) 800 silver. Ferrous Iron core to the center with the black paint virtually all intact. Reverse is maker marked stamped “CD” 800″ for “Carl Dillenius, Pforzheim”. 800 is as mentioned the silver content. Hinge, pin and catch all intact to the reverse.
The cross comes in it’s original presentation case. The presentation case displays an elegant exterior design, with a hinged lid with push button intact and funcional. Top lid featuring the embossed Iron Cross emblem. Inside, the purple velvet lining serves as a regal backdrop for Iron Cross. The case is in close to mint condition. It will be very hard to find a case like this in better condition.
This Iron Cross 1914 1’st Class is also comes with a very rare cardboard shipping cardboard box. The box has a label to the front “Iron Cross 1’st class” The box is also in very good condition with light chafe wear it has also been opened at one side, but all parts remain intact.
