Heer Panzergrenadier EM/NCO'S M34 Overseas Cap, Produced 1940

675.00

Field-grey wool construction cap with fold down side and back panels. As is typical the fold down panels are hand-stitched in the upright position at the front center of the cap. The front center of the cap has a machine woven, national eagle in grey threads on a cut-out woven, field-grey rayon base. The eagle is neatly handstitched to the cap. The front center of the fold down panels has a machine woven, national cockade on a woven, diamond shaped, dark-green rayon base. The cockade is machine stitched to the cap. The cap has a toxic green rayon inverted “V” soutache indicating service with the panzergrenadier. The soutache has been applied in the correct manner, being machine stitched in place and inserted through two, small, puncture holes near the bottom edge of the cap.

The cap has a natural, ferrous metal ventilation grommet to either side. The interior of the cap is fully lined in grey, brushed drill cotton cloth. Clearly, size 56 and year of production (1940) all in black ink. The cap is also marked for “WIENER MUTZEN LAGO 40”. The cap is in good, still used condition with nap wear and some soiling to all exposed parts. Lining show sweat stains especially to the lower sides and to the front where the forhead rests, as we like to see!.

Used cap in still very good condition!!
