Late War Heer EM/NCO'S M43 Light Weight Field Cap

Field-grey, light weight wool construction cap. Fold down back and side panels with two grey painted metal button front closure. The back and side panels were designed to be folded down to protect the wearers ears and neck. The front center of the cap has a machine woven late war national eagle in grey rayon threads positioned above a national cockade, sewn on a brown/grey trapezoid base. The insignia is machine stitched to the cap . The cap has an extended, cloth covered, visor with an internal stiffener with a subtly raised lip to the top of the forward edge. The interior of the cap is fully lined in blue/grey rayon. Nicely Rbnr# marked, size marked “57” and year of production 1944. The cap shows light signs of age and use.

Scarce leight weight cap, especially har to find with this late war produced trapezoid!!
