WWII Japanese Army Officer's Very Rare "Czech Style" Peaked Visor Cap
€295.00
A very rare stylish tailor-made officer’s cap in the so-called ”Czech style” with its distinctive tall frontal shape. This type was preferred by young Army officers from the 1920’s to the 1930’s. Overall, it is in a good shape but there are some moth holes present on the red wool band. (Some of these are on the backside and not visible from the front.) On the other hand, there is no moth holes on the beautiful khaki wool on the crown and on the red piping that surrounds it. Though full of wrinkles, the silk lining appears intact. The leather sweat band is also intact but shows slight wear. Some moth/wear damage is present on the kahki wool in the underside of the hat but is not really visible and does not affect the basic shape of the hat. There is a crack on the chinstrap but it can be extended. (We won’t recommend you do it with any pre-1945 visor hat, though.) The black enameled visor is clean and shiny despite a few superficial cracks. Overall, a nice solid example of this rare variant.
A very cool looking cap that is quite hard to come by!!
