WW2 Japanese Army Type 90 Combat Helmet in Excellent Condition

995.00

A standard issue combat helmet widely used by Japanese Army personnel during WW2. The helmet is all complete with the leather lining (including the cushions and the central string) and the cloth chinstrap (in full length). The quartermaster stamp is present on the cushion pocket in the back of the frontal leather flap but it is too faint to read. However, the date of issue appears to be “1942, ” which correspond to the dark olive drab paint color of the shell that is often encountered with the mid war issue helmets. About 90% of the paint is still left but there are several small spots of light rust on the surface of the shell. However, there is no sign of abuse, so this helmet might not have been issued. Indeed, we don’t see much wear marks both on the liner and the chinstrap which are clean and undamaged. The helmet hasn’t been cleaned, so the storage wear and the patina of age give the helmet an awesome look. There is a size mark “large” inside the shell at the edge.

It’s a rare chance to own a scarce mid war dark-colored helmet in superb condition!!
