Luftwaffe M40 Combat Helmet With Camouflage Wire

The stamped, sheet steel construction helmet retains most of its original matte-grey paint. The left side of the helmet has a shadow from a removed (according to regulations) Luftwaffe eagle decal. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. A heavy wire for camouflage foliage is attached to the helmet. The interior of the helmet has an excellent M31 leather liner. The reverse, interior, neck guard apron is serial/lot number stamped, “4844” and the interior, left side, apron has the stamped manufacturer’s code and size: “Q66” indicating manufacture by “F.W. Quist, G.m.b.H. Esslingen” and size 66. Complete with original chinstrap. The helmet is in a very good condition with light signs of age and use.
